What are the best shells to use in a 500 that won't jam up? For shooting clays.

They make it three different gauge's 12,20 and .410. If you have the the 12 i like to use federal ammunition and winchester just because of that reason. Those are the only shells that I have used that dont jam up on me. I use the 7 1/2 becuase i fell better with those size's I have the remington 870 express super magnum and it works awesome i have tried like almost all of the brands of shot gun shells and those two seem to be the best for me. Other than that my only other suggestion would be to buy a box of every kind and see which one works better than the other one for your gun. I have used the federal amuntion and shot off about 4 box with out it getting jammed. Its pretty much a trial and error to find the right one for your gun.

I shoot Federal 7 and 1/2 shot in my Remington 870. A friend has a Mossberg 500 and thats also waht he shotos and it doesnt jam or anything.

Anything that goes bang. No joke, I use whats cheap I have used Winchester High Speed, Remington STS, Federal Lead shot, Estate, Fiocchi, Wolf, and others.

My recommendation is anything in #6, #7.5, or #8 shot sizes, these have always worked for me. Now if you compete on a serious level you may want to look for some premium shells.
