Not always. This is something I've been thinking a lot about lately. I tend to stray from the straight and narrow fairly easily. However, I also take objection to people who think that I should live some kind of cartoonish, goody-two-shoes life just because I'm Christian. Fortunately, my religion doesn't dictate that I can only watch G-rated movies and live on the same intellectual level as a three-year-old. I'm human, with basic human desires and needs, and don't really have a problem in accepting that. I also have human failings. When I do commit moral failure, the last thing I need is some self-righteous bigot wagging an accusatory finger in my face instead of helping me. In terms of preaching, I don't really do that, anyway. I have problems enough of my own without trying to tell other people how to live their lives.

Nobodys perfect (they call that humanity) and I have made wrong decisions before but I always do what I believe at the time to be the right thing and then live with the consequences of my decision right or wrong. To make sure I dont make a serious mistake I follow absolute morality so there are certain rules(no murdering, stealing ,adultery etc)that I dont break no matter what.As for the when nobodys around thing well for religous people such as myself Gods always around.

Nope! I'm not perfect either and never will be. But when it comes to my child then I guess I am self righteous..cause I want her to do the right thing and stay away from the wrong things...(some of which I did and am not proud of)...I tell her my experiences and why I regret them and hope this helps her in her daily experiences with life. She will be graduating in a couple of weeks and I hope she will be content and happy and choose her path carefully.

No one is perfect. I try to practice what I preach but no one can be good all the time. I think people who try to be perfect all the time are the most judgmental...the bible says...you cannot take a splinter out of your brother's eye without first removing the plank from your own... so i think it is better to try to keep yourself in check more than others...

I try but fail miserably for example the other day the light was red but traffic so that if I stopped back further so a guy turning Left could turn and this lady behind me started honking and then after he got by she went by me and flipped me off and then I chased her and tried to get her to pull over so I could tell her a thing or two. Well she was brave enough to flip me off but blessedly wise enough not to stop. What the heck is wrong with me came to mind and then I sped up to apologize well needless to say she just continued flipping me off and driving as fast as she could safely do it weaving in and out to get away. I swear if I didn't have a sense of humor I'd be suicidal. God must have one or He would have smited me years ago. The important thing I guess is to be willing to look at our faults and try and do better. Sorry lady where ever you are.

I do the best I can.
I don't always remember to observe the turning of the wheel as I should.
I feel guilty that I drive to work every day, but the transit system here would take me five hours round trip. I just can't see that much time spent on a bus.
The important thing is to keep trying to be faithful to your creed.

I preach "try to do your best" and I try to do my best. Perfection is an unreasonable goal designed to keep people perpetually dependent. Since no one is perfect (by nature, not because of Adam), saying that perfection is required and imperfection can only be forgiven by the chief, the priest, the emperor, the pope, or god puts you in thrall (a wonderful old word) to them.

I totally struggle with this. I think all Christians do. heck if we could do it on our own we wouldn't need Jesus. I really try to be the best Christian I can be. SometimesI will slip and say a bad word or two or three, or even perhaps a bad thought.
I try to ignore it and get passed it. Easier said than done.

No one is perfect, man ..... but it is about self satisfaction which you can get by practising what you really "preach". I always preach people to respect others and I really practice it .... but there are things,...... which I sometimes say but don't act upon them .....
