Do people know that the original meaning of the word pray, meant to ask or petition?

It only later took on the definition of worship. Praying to those in Heaven asking them to pray for us is not worship.

I agree with you, maybe that is because I am Catholic. We Catholics believe that prayer and worship are two different things. Protestants do not see it this way. Protestants think this is just semantics and feel Catholics are idolaters.
