When you think you have in your hands a direct revelation from the creator of the universe and that you are among his special chosen...well let's just call a spade a spade. There isn't a shred of evidence that scripture is a divine revelation. Quite the contrary. The Bible contains no cures for cancer, calculates a circle's circumference to its diameter (Pi) as 3, when in that day the Egyptians, Greeks and many others had a more accurate readout on the value than Yahweh. But Yahweh did find time for very detailed instructions on how to keep slaves, how to sacrifice animals, and how to avoid women who are menstruating. So absent any testable proof, what basis do they have for believing? What they call faith is simply their decision that it's divine. So the Bible is divine because they have decided it is. And they say we should all do according to the Bible because it is divine, which we only have their say so, no testable evidence, because their god is hiding and doesn't do tests. So they decide the Bible is divine, they decide we all should obey it, they decide its infallible and they decide we all must share their opinion which they formed without testable evidence. Can you imagine anything more arrogant, or a view of truth more self-centered and megalomaniac than that? And they call it faith:

We say you can not possibly understand because we know you can't. That's based on our own personal experience, not because we think we're better. God works in His own time on all of us and I personally count no one lost. I know that can sound arrogant, it did to me once too. It is not because it is meant that way, it is how it is perceived [ as a personal attack]. no one wants to feel like they are the scum of the earth and that God doesn't love them as much as He loves others. ] He loves us all equally ] Love can be offered but not accepted. We are not weak or striking out we are trying to make others understand, so that they can feel the gift that we have been given. When someone comes across something that is so amazing and wonderful they just want to share it. Do you get made at someone if they tell you about a really great book they read or movie? No because it does not hit you at the core of your being, this does.
We all found out ourselves when the moment came and we saw the truth about ourselves and God. Trust me we felt like idiots for being so stupid and not seeing it before. No one can understand unless they are on the other side of the cross, with Jesus, and not just watching.

Yes, I find most fundamentalist Christians, particularly their leaders, to be an awful mix of ignorance and arrogance.
