It's true that Jesus is the only one who was ever, and will ever be perfect, and yes, we have all sinned, and fallen short, etc., but usually if you have to ask if it's ok, it's not. I'm not sure what you mean by "unholy" things, but if you're referring to unrighteous things, the word unrighteous simply means that it's not right with God. Thankfully, we have a loving and merciful God, but that doesn't mean we should take advantage of his mercy, forgiveness, etc. Read Matt 7:22 ,1st John 5:17, and James 4:17. This was in no way meant to sound self-righteous, just trying to be a help.

Hmm...well, let's get to the basics:
1) There's no such thing as being a "Christian all your life." We're often born into a Christian family or attend Christian events when we are young. But eventually, we have to make the decision to follow Christ.
2) The decision to follow Christ is more than just proclaiming Him the Savior of your life. It means to lay down your life and follow Him in all that you do! Every single thing you do - whether you eat or sleep or serve, should be done for the glory of God.
3) That being said, we must repent and turn our lives around. We reject all that is of the world and turn to all that is of God. We must seek God and honor Him in everything, because He demands it of us.
That being said, we will make mistakes. Lots of them - we're all sinners. However, the big difference in a born-again life is this: we do our best to make the godly decision on all that we do, avoiding sin wherever we can, and when we do sin, we turn to God and do our best to sin in that way no more.
God bless!

1. you cannot be a Christian all your life... you are born @ emnity with God because of our fall in Eden.
2. if you think being "good" will merit you anything but eternal damnation, read the book of Romans, esp. Chapter 3
3. you are incapable of doing the good that God requires for justification and righteousness.
4. only by realizing your plight and inability to not sin will you see that you deserve death. after that, you will find brokenness and reach out to the cross of Christ and your curse will truly be cast upon Christ. After all, have you ever tried to grab something with your hands full? (ie. file chests of the good things you've done; helping little old ladies across the street.)
5. even the "good" you may have felt you did is selfishly motivated and therefore sin

Yes, everybody does something somewhat unholy in their life and as long as you have not blasphemed against the Holy Spirit, you can and will be forgiven by God if you ask Him to forgive you. The only man who lived a perfect Holy life was Jesus Christ.

First, let us define what "sin" is. It is an old English word in archery that means "missed the mark". If you did not hit the bullseye, you were called a "sinner". Now there are many sins (little s and plural) but there is only one Sin (capitol S and singular). Sin is a positional state that separates you from God. When Christ died, He saved us from Sin. That is, the positional state of being "in Sin" has been eliminated. Now do we continue to commit sins? Yes. It is hard to walk in this world and not get your feet dirty. 1 John 1:8 states,
"If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us."
However, now, because of Jesus, we can have a daily cleansing...
"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
We are now clean.
A good way to look at this is you deciding to adopt an orphan. You do the legal stuff and the child is no longer an orphan but your son or daughter. This is what Jesus did on the cross. Allowed us to become adopted into the family of God.
Romans 8:15 For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.”
Now, does your new child play in the mud and get dirty? Yes. That is what hoses and bath tubs are for. Is he/she still your child? Yes. Do they do things wrong and need discipline? Of course! Are they still your child? Yes.

Walk a self correcting path. You can't be perfect. If you find yourself straying or if that isn't enough and you get into trouble, sometimes real trouble, come back to the right path and learn from your mistakes.

"Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead,"
Philippians 3:12,13
These are Paul's words. He was considered very Godly, but still fell short. Just keep walking forward, that is all you can do ~ move forward.
