The engine was just rebuilt. It runs great. The pain job is good. Not perfect, but good. The gas gauge doesn't work. But besides that it's perfect inside and out.

How much should I sell it for?

Where should I sell it?

I'd start out at $3500 and be happy with $2500 It's a nice car and with the higher gas prices people should be knocking soon. If you're not in a hurry to sell hold out for 3K or more.

That's a tough thing to tell you via this medium. Especially not knowing where you are

I can tell you I bought one last October here in California in fair (at best) condition for $400. Strong engine and good tranny but with a terrible interior. (Paint sucks too).. but it runs and runs and runs..

My best suggestion is to go to eBay and:\

1) Do a search on (vw, volkswagen) (bug, beetle) or something like that.
2) THEN, with those results do an advanced search that starts at around $400 and lists COMPLETED auctions.

That will thin out the parts and the little toys and you will be able to see what people actually paid and for what kind of vw.

When you get ready to sell it, list it back on eBay with lots of photos and reserve the right to sell it offline.

Then also list it on Craigslist for your area as well as some of the Volkswagen places (www.samba.com ?)

that should get you your best price.

Addendum: Ah.. you are in Oregon. (license plate in movie that I just spotted).. straighten out that front bumper.. makes it look like it was in a wreck..

good luck\\.
