I'd say just 2 canines, and over thousands of years after the flood the canines evolved and changed into wolves, foxes, dogs, etc..

He didn't just take 2 of every animal, some he took up to six. The ones that were to be used for food, he took more of, or that would be eaten by something else. We don't really know on this. Does it really matter?

The Bible says two of every kind. Genesis 6:20 We have a hard time explaining it, but anything is possible with God.

It's all "allegory" in both "covenants": Galatians 4.
Noah did both: all God AND all the LORD commanded.
Allegory: Noah did both Grace and LAW = a Dead End.
It got him inducted into the hALL of shame: Hebrews 11:
13,39: These all "died" AND "received not the promise".
POINT: Grace + Law = Life + Death = A Dead End.
No such dead end in the end of Bible already written:

The Bible says that God told him to take one "kind" of animal on board. One kind of canine could be any "kind" of canine.
