Most people appreciate honesty in these matters. It makes things easier on you and the other person. It's tough to make yourself say the words, but once it's done, it's done and neither of you have to worry about it anymore.

Honesty is the best policy. They will appreciate it and it will save both of you from wasting your time and efforts. Just let them know that the spark isn't there, that you just don't see it advancing into a relationship, that you see you being more of a friend... Whatever you feel comfortable with saying say. Don't proceed to date them. Be up front and don't lead them on or give them false hope.

Politely, firmly and at the moment it comes up. If possible try and do this privately, but if pressured in front of a group or you don't feel safe, then do this publicly. Don't lead them on, don't have pity on them and sincerely wish them well.

Just tell him where you are coming from. You don't need to lie to him, but tell it like it is. Don't be nasty, but don't lead him on either. That will be the best thing for everybody. He can move on. If you've only met once, it shouldn't be a big deal. good luck

Thank him for the 'date' anyway, but if he asks you out again, tell him you are not feeling any connection/chemistry between you two. Offer him friendship, only if you really mean it.

If they ask for another date, be honestly. Let them know that you're sorry, you're just not interested in them.

Be honest. Tell them thanks but you are just not interested in another date with them. Your honesty will be appreciated and it will save you both time and heartache in the end.
