It's valid to them, but it can be taken two ways.
When i read it i think..... "you exist so god exists" means... since humans exist & further carry along the myth of this "god" figure.... that's how god exists.
But the christian argument is that we are here because god created & thus god exists. It's similar to the "proof of god's existance is all around you just look around" argument. It is not valid to prove their point, but it could be valid when reversed since god did actually come from the imaginations of some old-school writers about 2000 years ago.

It isn't valid. It is barely even an argument. I suppose it is made as some intuitive form of a design or cosmological argument.
If it were valid, it would prove God doesn't exist (as a reductio ad absurdum). God is a necessary being and is dependent on nothing. The argument makes God's existence dependent on yours, which makes him not God. If God is dependent on his creation in any way, he does not exist out of necessity but contingency.

This statement reminds me of Rene Descartes' mind-body dualism. Famously, "I think, therefore I am." The idea being that a bit of God's immortal essence (the human soul) must be present in a living body so that thought is possible. "You exist, therefore God exists" expresses of the same sentiment.
Personally, I don't agree. Nevertheless, I can still understand the argument without having to actually believe it.

I do believe in God, but I don't see that as a valid argument for his existence. Charles Manson, hurricanes that kill thousands, earthquakes and disease exist - are they also proof of God? Belief is a matter of faith, not something that can be proven.

yes, God exists as a figment of others imagination. some people are not capable of generating faith in themselves or cultivating love unless they have a God to exist for them and some live only to serve who ever their God is, so in this sense God is real and exists only cause man exists and validates this existence with man made rituals, buildings, books and symbols, which support their views and affect our culture art and literature in society.

That statement implies or carries with it the belief that God is someone that man invented.
As a proof on the otherhand of the existence of God, it falls short and has it's problems.
Not valid.
Because God created, we exist. We are the proof.

Unless I am god my existence doesn't prove that god exists. It only proves that people like to fill in blank answers with god instead of finding out the actual answer.

It's not valid. It presupposes that human existence is reliant upon the existence of the deity, a statement for which there is no evidence.

No it was "I think therefore I exist".
You just made that up.
Should be more like "you exist therefore God doesn't exist", you could say that at dinner parties to someone you don't like.

If "you" refers to humanity, then in a sense, yes. Humanity exists and god exists as a concept created by humanity. But only as a concept, not a real, tangible being.
