If you get held back it is your own fault.
Blaming the weather, walking to school etc. is just your way of not taking responsibility.
Take responsibility for your faults.

it depends on the school, some will hold you back a grade if you miss a really excessive number of days...and if you wake up late, you should go to school anyway...if you are legitimately sick, and you go to the doctor and get a note, the school may count it as an excused absence....if for whatever reason you do get held back it is not the end of the world, just really make sure you don't miss too much school the next year...and you could also try to ask a friend for a ride to school

Each school system within the state has their own rules which apply for the number of days a student must attend. In some cases 180 days. In our school system, if a student misses four days - consecutively or not, the Attendance officer is notified immediately. Notification is forwarded to the parents to provide a reason for the students frequent absences. If the parent cannot provide this information, and the student continues to be absent or unaccounted for throughout the year, the officer reports his or her findings to the judge. The judge will issue a subpeona to the parents to meet a court date. I have known some parents to have to spend some days in jail for keeping their children out of school. You must be 18 in order to withdraw legally from school. And yes, it can affect your promotion if you cannot meet certain requirements and standards.

Sounds like if you made it to school you'd obtain proper grammer too. That alarm excuse NEVER works, it's not really worth even trying to use it.
And yes, you could get held back for missing too much school. There is a minimum amount of days in class required to move on to the next grade level.

If you show initiative by asking for a friend to bring you school work you may have missed, then you'll be able to keep up and get promoted. I would stongly suggest that you get to bed earlier and maybe set more than one alarm clock somewhere so you have to GET OUT OF BED to turn it/them off.....

I can see you've missed a lot of school by reading your question. You better ask your parents to get a tutor for you.
