NO! Don't we already kiss their asses enough, with free medical care, food, jobs, and making everything in the USA Bi-lingual? Give me a freakin' break! My ancestors moved to America and learned the language--ENGLISH. They had crappy jobs (when they could even find work) and no indoor plumbing. They worked hard for their families. They HAD to conform, unlike today, when everything is "Celebrate Diversity." I wish those illegals would celebrate by jumping back over that fence, or crawling back through the sewer to their own country. Push "1" for English? How about, "Push 2 and go back to the cesspool you crawled out of."

Illegal - meaning without conformity to the laws. Alien - meaning not indigenous to the area within the borders. Now, how can "illegal alien" be racist except in the mind of a racist? Above someone said alien is meant to be demeaning. Victor Nunez, the biggest racist of all, says what? We're "white arorgant [sic] trash with no feeling"? I might be white arrogant trash but I can spell. When these ILLEGAL ALIENS want to call you a racist it just means they've already lost the argument.

No, not racist. Racism is supporting a SYSTEM that keeps a group of people from obtaining their rights as Human beings.

Interestingly people keep claiming many here (and I've been FALSELY accused of it too) supposedly say that people who want immigration laws enforced "are racist". I've actually seen very little of that here (granted that on some other Countries or languages sites at Y!A that may be different). What I HAVE seen a lot of is words that rhyme with "setback" and "meaner".

By the way, please enlighten us as to what that website has to do with your question.

No. The term is in our laws and refers to people who come from another country. They are aliens or illegal aliens. It's a term that has no race associated with it, nor does it have a country associated with it other than by definition it is not the USA or one of its satellites. Just because illegal immigrants want to make it racist or want to define aliens as someone from outerspace doesn't make it true. They're just reaching and trying to find excuses. It's up to us to ensure that we punch holes in their excuses and deflate their balloons.

Yes. The aproved term is immigrant or, if you must directly allude to the flawed immigration laws of the US, 'undocumented worker' (since, unlike Americans, the undocumented can always find jobs). Remember, there is no difference between an illegal alien from Mexico working as a field hand and a legal resident from Pakistan working as an engineer. To suggest otherwise is the height of racism.

Hardly. It's a legal term used long before 'alien' meant anything else.

Not racist, but meant to be demeaning by comparing to an "alien".
