Is there a such thing as "no catch" while doing this online? Many say free but aren't really.

Free Credit Report makes you sign up for something in order to get it free...if you remember to cancel there is not a problem...otherwise I think consumer reports said that you want to go to annualcredit report.com in order to get a truely free report...of course you can only do this once a year...

Go to annualcreditreport.com.You can get your credit report from all 3 agencies.I would suggest that you get from 1 today, get another in 4 months, and the other 4 months after that. That way you can check on it throughout the year.

www.annualcreditreport.com is the officially sanctioned website from the US Government to check your credit report. You still have to pay for a credit score, though.
You can check once from each of the three major credit bureaus once a year. I personally spread mine out so that every four months, I'm pulling a credit report from one of the major bureaus.
