being affected without me knowing, or when ure ears hurt from the music you hear is that when your hearing is being hurt?

yes you are slowly damaging your hearing
just like people that work near loud machinery it damages the hearing over a period of time
pain or no pain it is damaging,turn it down a notch or two

Yes. You're damaging your ears. Truck-drivers who drive with the left window down have less hearing in their left ear than their right ear. It takes time, and your hearing will reduce - first the high pitches, then the low pitches.

loud music had deafened more rock concert goers than I'd care to think about, not to mention the musicians that stand in front of those huge amps. Yes, you are damaging your hearing, whether you feel anything or not.

I didn't feel any pain either when was around turbine aircraft or when I was shooting or listening to loud music. Now I can't hear for crap.

i cant hear outa my right ear and can barley hear outa my left... its thats from a 2000 watt car system over about a 3 yr period of time...
