by the standards of the era i suspect most guys today would be considered a Casanova ---- his claim to fame was that he put the ladies pleasure before his own --- a major change for the time

why not just say hello??? if she is interested in you she will say hello back and you can take it from there

Follow up with something, like make a joke about the random guy dressed in a clown suit sitting at the bar, something that you can both appreciate and laugh at even though you've never had a conversation with this girl in your life. The conversation should flow from there if she's into you. She'll want to keep it going by asking you questions, like "are you from around here?" etc.

go up to her and say 'hey, wats up?' she will say something then you just keep a conversation going...then towards the end of the conversation ask her to coffee not a date just yet...unless she considers it a date.

{dont say any of those cheesy pick-up lines that you hear in movies cause those are the only places that those will work...}
