Is there an easy way to take a new largish tile off of a plastered wall without breaking it? It is in the wrong position and i need to take it off, I haven't plastered round it yet, so I can get to it from all sides. How about wetting the wall behind it? would that soften the adhesive up and make it easier to take it off? any suggestions?

what you need is very hot water ..say boil a kettle and let it run down from the top ..leave it for a few minutes and do it again and it will soon come loose ..if you have a hacksaw blade you can feed it down the back to help free it ..but as the adhesive is water based it will soon be loose

use a scraper what decoraters use ,hit it whith hammer just like you would use whith hammer and chissel.
This prevents damage to tile....if then adhesive has stuck behind tile after taking it off wall...soak it in water for an hour and it should come off easy....asuming it is wall adhesive.
