Here is an fascinating article about memory development. It says that babies have little awareness of time and context, which are used to catalog memories. Also, we access memories through language. The development of these characteristics coincides with the development of long-term memories. Interesting!

maybe we are remembering more than we think-my little sister was asking my Mom about something that happened and my Mom was shocked and said "I can't believe you remember that-you were just a tiny baby!" I think we just push a lot of our memories back in our minds and that a lot of what we think is intuition is actually from memories

i'm not sure i agree that we don't. just because we can't vocalize it, or even realize it, doesn't mean that memory isn't there, even for adults. if not, then why would they say that people can actually remember the birth experience, if put under hypnosis for example? that has to be something you've been remembering since you were a baby, since it happened when you were born!

That's a good question!!! Cause sometimes I wonder!!!
I remember bits and peaces of my youth!!! But I think I actually remember seeing that light on the day of my birth!!!
I'm not crazy!!! I guess it was just a bright light of coming to life!!! Who knows!!!

Becuase our brains at that point are starting to wire themselves for motor skills, communication, facial recognition, etc., thru trial and error. At least that is what I remember from college.

The ability to recall is too under-developed at that age.

I remember being a baby very well. I used to cry, poop, eat, sleep, cry, pee, poop, spitup, sleep, cry, eat, poop. This went on for awhile.
