If you had to ask the question, you might have known that the 'joke' would be inappropriate. Yes, is borders racist in that you are repeating a very stale stereotype perpetuating African Americans' in ability to pronounce words. Hence, the Africans when coming to America were stripped of their own language and culture and separated so that they were not able to speak their own language. When the southern white landowners took possession of these black men and women, their own southern drawl (dialect) was very much responsible for the mispronunciation of the English language. What these Africans heard was "dis", "dat", "dose" "dem" instead of 'this, that, those, them'. As a result the language was broken down to be sensistive to the ears. In the future, ask yourself if you think there would be any readers who might be offended by your comments. If you can answer 'yes', that might provide a clue not to write.

Well, to figure that one out, put yourself in a room of people of all colors, then see how loudly you tell the joke...if you lower your voice, or look around you to see who is in ear range, then you can bet that it is inappropriate...as is the rest of that very very old joke....
