What does it mean if someone from Jobs and Family Services says the case is closed for now, but if they find any new evidence they will contact the prosecutor.

It means no action is going to be taken, but they are not closing the case as is it's all over or thrown out, if new evidence gets produced, the case can move forward again.

If you're talking about CPS, I had a "case closed for now" that got re-opened almost four years later. Once you're in the CPS file, you'll never be out until your youngest child turns eighteen. I am still being watched by CPS.

It means the case is closed for now, and they will reopen the case if other allegations are found.

Cases can always be re opened at a later date.
