I am in pharmacy school and the cost is about 15000 a year the school has budgeted 20,195 for the year, I have been awarded 3500 for the year. How much will my school award me since my parents are denied, there is no possible way I can come up with the other 10,000! ( I think it will increase from 3500 to 5500 because I will be classified as a junior)

If you are a sophomore you can get an addional 4000/year, junior 5000/year but still not enought to cover the 10000 you need to cover tuition. You can look into private loans to see if your credit is good enough but if you need a cosigner your parents would probably not be any help there either. You can also try another lender sometimes they will be denied at one and approved through another.

If you are a true pharmacy major enrolled in a PharmD program, you are not a dependent student. You are now an independent student. Make sure you filled out your FAFSA correctly. I'm in Pharmacy and I receive a budget of 33k per year. If the Perkins, HPSL, subsidized/unsubsidized Stafford loans don't suffice, you can take a Grad PLUS loan or private loans. You don't qualify for parent PLUS loans.

Present a copy of the PLUS denial to the financial aid office and ask to be considered for additional unsubsidized federal loans. They are then allowed to make additional loan funds available to you as long as the PLUS denial was for credit reasons and not that your parents defaulted on other student loans.

You will then be eligible for an unsubsidized stafford loan.
