What do you think are some recommendations for the MIS systems of grocery store chains? (Ralphs, Albertsons, Vons, etc)

Since they have a database of frequent customers and the cash register knows what someone is buying maybe it can give some cues as to what would go well with those ingredients (which the cashier can read off) like "Do you have enough butter and milk to go with those two boxes of cake mix?" or maybe provide some tips like "would you like a guacamole recipe printed to go with those avocados??"
