I didn't know about all these ideas to remind people to attend your wedding. I always thought the invitation was sufficient.

But, If I had to pick between an e-mail or a magnet....magnet wins. E-mail is a little tacky.

I think it really depends on who the wedding is for an who is attending. If you have a lot of older guests who maybe aren't as internet savvy - then a magnet might be the best way to go. If your guests are a younger and hipper crowd then e-mail might be the way to go. I would just decide one way or the other and do it.

Personally I would send magnets though. Too many things happen with e-mail - accidentally deleted or spam folders and that. Magnets through the mail would be cute and you could really personalize them.

Send magnets.. emails are nice, but people forget about them in the inbox.

I sent out little cards to everyone a year before the wedding since we had a destination wedding, and everyone was happy with the cards, instead of an email.

Unless is a destination wedding or a large formal reception that requires a year long planning, magnets are not necesary.

I say for a medium size affair that is less than 9 months away, save the date magntes are not necesary and a simple email will suffice. Send a letter for older folks that may not have access to the internet.

Good luck

I think in this day and age email is fine, but magnets might be something they keep and will see more often. I did not do emails for the fact that I do not have everyone's email address and I have older family members who do not even use a computer. It really is just a preference to what you and your budget can do.

Go for the magnets. I know that it is an extra cost, but I have e-mails that I save thinking I will look at it at a later date but yet, haven't looked at for months and most of it is no longer relevant, let alone remember what they said. With the magnets, your guest will have a constant reminder of your day and that it is coming up.

Email is "all the rage" but might not be suitable for older folks or people who don't routinely communicate this way. I love email save-the-dates (evite.com!) because I can set them up to go straight to my Outlook and get reminders, etc.

Magnets are convenient and constant reminders as well and they hold things on the fridge. A little more practical because your fridge won't crash but your PC might!

Good luck with your wedding!!!

Send magnets. This way people can put them on their refrigerator as a reminder they can visually see all the time.

We sent out magnets to spare the 'older generation' and they were a hit. No one forgot our wedding date!
