How long should the pain last after a bone marrow biopsy?

My husband had a bone marrow biopsy done and it was VERY painul. It has been three days and he is still very sore. Is this normal? He can't even sleep through the night.

it is possible for it to be painful for this long. I can suggest a few things, tylenol/acetamenophin and or ibuprofen if these have not been tried and if the doctor allows. Another thing that I commonly recommend is to use orajel as long as the wound is not getting infected. do see your doctor if it persists or worsens or if new symptoms develope, it may take upto 2-3 weeks total for it to completely go away, good luck
