I was bored one day and counted the slices in a loaf of Safeway white bread. 21, not including crusts. Twenty one?? How do you make sandwiches with an odd number of slices??

Ditto what countrygal said. And some even come unsliced, so that would be one "piece". FYI - Bread comes in slices, not "pieces".

I'm tellin' ya.. some of the questions on here. People must be very bored and have pathetic lives if they find asking them entertaining. Either be more creative if your questions aren't serious... or get a life!
