If you want both the right and left channels to go to the amplifier, then you need to splice into both sets of speaker wire. The speakers have two wires because one's a positive and one's a negative wire. You just have to be sure to connect the positive and negative wires to the correct inputs on the line-out converter; if you get it wrong, the two channels may be out of phase with each other, and that will have a serious effect on your sound quality (although it won't damage anything).

it depends if it is a 1 channel converter or two. it it only has one wire i would only splice it in to one. but if you did splice it into both it would not be stereo any more but it would be mono witch isn't very bad.

This is just my opinion!
f i were doing this it is what i would think about.

the converter
should have outputs for both left and right speakers
so check the wiring
look close at the wires going to the speakers
and the color of the wires - you will see that its more
than one wire.
