Sounds like your Vet is a quack! You need to take your dog to another Veterinarian. No worms will just go away untreated by medication. If the dog is defecating blood, that's not good.

The dog was pooing blood and the vet said to leave it alone? Either find out what the reason for them saying this was (and it better be darn good!) or take the dog to another vet pronto!
I can't honestly envisage a situation where any cause of passing blood should be left alone. Worms do not disappear on their own, they just multiply happily inside the dog until the dog dies. There are other reasons besides worms why the dog may be passing blood and NONE of them should go untreated.
Please phone your vet and ask for clarification of why your dog is not receiving treatment - and if he doesn't give you a good reason (can't think of one) phone another vets immediately.

Worms will go away without treatment IF THE DOG DIES.
Hookworms can cause a stool that looks like a bloody gel. Get you dog treated before he dies. Not only could he die, but he could spread the worms to other dogs. Some worms are transferable to people, too. Hookworms and roundworms are. So is a parasite called Giardia.
Treatment may cost a bit in the beginning, but worming is one of the cheapest things to treat. If you get your dog tested for heartworms you can get him on heartguard which prevents him from getting heartworms if he hasn't already got those. It also is effective against some other kinds of worms that dogs get, though a dog infested with worms will need treatment besides that preventative.
I can't imagine a Vet telling you to leave a sick dog alone, unless he or she was trying to tell you not to "do it yourself" to fix the problem.
Your best bet would be VET, ASAP to ensure effective and proper dosing of worm medicine. Since your dog has lots of worms, trying to do it yourself with over the counter de-wormers could be ineffective or you could give your dog too much and harm him that way.

I don't think this vet knows what he is talking about. Worms can be very serious and always require treatment usually. But, I am not a veterinarian so I don't know but I do know that worms can kill dogs and my dog has had worms and they put him on antibiotics. I would take him to anothert vet unless they have found out some new way to get rid of worms and I just don't know. I would definitley question this vet about it.

No. If your dog has worms it needs medication to get rid of them. You were right to take him to a vet with him having signs of blood in his poo. That is not natural and should not be happening. Animals will eventually die from worm infestation that is not treated.

No worms need to be treated.
But pooping blood is not usually a sign of worms.
You should have your vet do a fecal egg count and see if he has worms and treat if he does. Otherwise you should have your vet figure out why he poos blood.

No, the worms will not go away on their own. You need to get medication from the vet. If you have brough in a stool sample and they tested it, then they know what worms he has and should have given you medication to take care of the worms.

you ought to take him to the vet then have your doorstep sister pay off you. If the dogs isn't conserving down fluids it is going to develop into dehydrated and die. The longer he's unwell the added expensive it will be to address him. in case your doorstep sister gained't pay for the vet visit and also you may want to't discover the money for it the dogs should be surrendered to a shield. In maximum places you may want to get in worry for animal cruelty because even no matter if it is your doorstep sisters dogs you agreed to guard it. So on your human being sake and for the sake of the dogs get to the vet or provide the dogs to someone who has the time and or money to look after him. you may want to attempt the over-the-counter dewormers from a feed keep yet they could not be efficient.

I saw my dog had worms on her feces. I took it to the vet and their lab tested ( live worms were still on feces). They said no parasites! and no need for meds.
Next morning, I saw the tiny worms again. I took it to the same vet and he now says yes they are tape worms and need medicine for treatment.
Just 10 days ago, they took her blood sample to test for heartworms before having her take Treifixis.
Are these vets quack? How do I believe their tests? Any thoughts, please?
