All things (regular maintenance, care, etc) the brands that routinely have the best repair rcord are Toyota and Honda. There is a reason why the Honda Accord has been on Car and Drivers Top 10 list for 15 years running. Not only are these brands the most reliable, but they are also two of the easiest to service if something actually does go wrong.

The best quality cars are either Japaneese or German. Japaneese Cars like Toyotas, Hondas and Nissians seem to last longer and thats just doing the normal oil change and 15000 mile checks. I have a 2002 Toyota RAV4 and the only major thing I had to do with my SUV is the change the battery. The only thing the German automobile cars have over the Japaneese is safety. For example the Volvo is rated as the safest automobile in the world. I know because I have one and I have done a lot of research on that car before I bought it. You best bet is to go Japaneese or German.

You've gotta go w/ the Japanese cars.
- Easy, cheap maintenace and parts.
- They'll usually run for a lot more miles than other cars.
- They'll keep their value.
Try looking up older car prices, you'll notice that Japanese cars will be a lot more expensive than others even if they're older and have higher mileage. (It's because they're expected to last longer) Honda, Toyota, Nissan are the best!

Consumer Reports magazine lists Toyota, Honda, Scion (Toyota), Acura, and Lexus as the top five most reliable brands -- in that order.

By the way, Mercedes, Audi, and BMW are near the bottom of the list.

It has more to do with the maintenance and care given to the car than the brand of the car itself. Simply- a Ford will last longer than a Chevy if it is taken care of and the same is true if the Chevy was taken care of.

BAH

If you can't or won't maintain the car
it don't matter what quality it is or how long someone says
it can or should last.

I see all types of cars in the junk yards both new and old

bottom line you decide how long the car will last
barring accidents or defects
