They hate the Muslim theocracies but love their own version. More hypocrisy from the Xians... shocking...

I think church and state should be as far away from each other as possible. If you were to integrate the two that would really hamper rights of religious freedom, and speech could be close behind....sort of like in Iran. I think its funny when people want to mix them. The Jews were awaiting a political messiah that would liberate them and make them kings of the world, but the Messiah was nothing like that. Right there in the most important event in history there is no politics, yet people insist on inserting religion in government. I prefer extremely limited government, and allowing the government to dictate beliefs would give them too much power.

As an atheist, I don't know why Christians do what they do but I know that I must oppose them with every fiber of my being. For decades, I was content to live and let live. Then the fundamentalist right organized politically for the express purpose of inflicting their ignorant superstitions on the rest of us. Because Christians broke the social-contract of mutual toleration, they are no longer protected by the rules of polite civilized behavior. Christians have made it the duty of responsible free-thinking people to speak out against their ignorant intolerance, before they can drag us back into the horrors of another theocratic dark age.

Religion is far better off with less influence from the government. The more the two become integrated, the more religion becomes a puppet of the state. People like to think religion would influence government, but what would really happen is that the government would control religion.

They insist that they are right, and everyone else is wrong. They feel it is their duty to show everybody the right path, and they figure forcing people to be Christian is the best way.
And I'd say yes, it is like Iran.

To hide their insecurity they want to mandate everybody has the same religion. This prevent open minded people from questioning their beliefs. Look at the middle east not being a muslim is a good reason to get killed. xians would do the same if they would be able to get away with, check history.........

Whoa, whoa, whoa…hold up. Christians make up the majority of this country…84% of the USA is Christian, 3% of the USA is Atheist, 2% is Agnostic, 11% has no preference, 1% is Jewish…other religions here are so small they didn’t even get ranked…ever heard the saying majority rules? Why are we bending over backwards to please people like Atheists…who have NO BELIEFS, and Agnostics…who DON’T KNOW which religion is correct…and hey, it might very well be Christianity, and the people who said they had no preference when surveyed…if you have no beliefs how can you complain?
For all the people in the world that don't understand
Exactly what it is we have here in this motherland
See the Father's hand started up a master plan
There's been many through the test of time take a stand
But had they ran who knows where we would be now
I thank God it's something I don't have to think about
Instead my thoughts are on the ones who laid it on the line
KIA gave their lives to let freedom shine
But in the meantime I think of those of your kind
And wonder how it is you get things so messed up inside your mind
Just think a second how long it's been going on before you
They're the one's who even helped you have the right to argue
Stop complaining, move along
Open your eyes and see what's going on
We need to get back to the ways of the days of old
One nation under God indivisible
[Chorus]
All the people let me hear you give a holler
In God we trust, In God we trust
We stamp it on our penny, nickel, dime, quarter, dollar
In God we trust, In God we trust
The people of the nation let me hear you give a holler
In God we trust, In God we trust
We stamp it on our penny, nickel, dime, quarter, dollar
In God we trust, In God we trust
The other day I saw the news somebody else complaining
They want the motto taken off of the Benjamin Franklin
They got a problem with my God and that I believe in it
But the don't got a problem with the money when they spend it
They're so offended by 4 words that need no explanation
In GOD we trust the motto of this greatest nation
Not just a motto but something that we truly believe
If you don't like it you can pack a bag and you can leave
Stop complaining, move along
Open your eyes and see what's going on
We need to get back to the ways of the days of old
One nation under God indivisible
[Chorus]
All the people let me hear you give a holler
In God we trust, In God we trust
We stamp it on our penny, nickel, dime, quarter, dollar
In God we trust, In God we trust
The people of the nation let me hear you give a holler
In God we trust, In God we trust
We stamp it on our penny, nickel, dime, quarter, dollar
In God we trust, In God we trust
One nation under God indivisible
You can't take back that, that was never yours

I hope not.
That would be frightening. While I am a Christian, I would hate to be forced into a certain kind of Christianity. Or to have Christianity forced onto those who do not believe in it.

I won't say all Christian but the fundies. They want to be able to say what people can and can't do according to their beliefs, regardless if it's really in the bible or not. They want control of people and their lives.
