not so good for your health. Is there anyway to make a easy but healthy pizza? Thanks.

If you don't want to forgo the cheese all together, which would lower the colories a lot, use a little bit of a stronger cheese like goat, blue, etc to get a bigger bang for you calorie buck. Also, using such substantial veggies as portobello mushrooms and eggplant will make it feel more like a solid meal.

Pizza can be a very healthy option, with a whole-grain crust and without a ton of grease. :) Here's an easy recipe that doesn't even require any kneading! (My family eats this regularly.)

PIZZA (8 servings/2 pizzas)
2 c. warm water
4 c.+ whole wheat flour
1 Tbsp. instant/rapid-rise yeast
1/2 tsp. salt
8 oz. tomato sauce
oregano to taste (about 1 Tbsp.?)
1-1/3 lb. mozzarella, grated
toppings as desired

Mix water with 2 c. of the flour, and the salt. Let sit for 15-20 minutes. Add salt and remaining flour until a dough forms. (Add enough that it isn't too "gooey.") Divide in half and roll out on pizza stones/pans or cookie sheets. Spread with tomato sauce with a little oregano mixed in. (You can add some Italian seasoning, too, if you like.) Cover with grated mozzarella and top as desired. Bake in preheated oven at 475 for 14 minutes. Let cool for a couple minutes before slicing so the cheese doesn't all slide off. :)

I agree with whole wheat crust. My husband buys a store mix and adds some whole wheat crust to it. Not overly healthy, but I get enough whole grains in my day to "compensate". Also, I don't put cheese on mine, and I do put veggies on it.

Read the labels of the sauce jars. The Kroger grocery store brand has no corn syrup or high fructose corn syrup in it.

I hope this helps. It works for us. We don't do it every week, but on occasion, when my husband has time to make dinner. (Pizza and pancakes are his thing.)

Whole wheat crust and veggie toppings, low fat mozzerella or a non dairy cheese substitute (for you maybe, not for me LOL) When I am ordering pizza the temptation for me is to just say the hell with it and order SUPREME WITH EXTRA CHEESE DON'T FORGET THE ANCHOVIES, but that's the devil on my left shoulder, the angel on my right shoulder asks for the Vegetarian don't forget the black olives.

make your own sauce...bought sauces have high fructose corn syrup (basically sugar). make your own dough with whole wheat flour. roast some veggies to go on top. use low fat mozarella cheese.
