No offense taken. I actually appreciate the way you explained your question after you asked it...because yes, there are similarities in people with Down syndrome, but they don't really all look alike...they just may share some characteristics. The almond eyes are a characteristics...and many people with DS have lovely Brushfield spots in their irises which make them look like they have stars in their eyes. Because DS is caused by a triplication of the 21st chromosome (Trisomy-21) genes on that chromosome are affected in all people with DS, thus causing the similarities.
Having said that, as the mom to a little boy with Down syndrome, I can tell you I have met dozens of kids with DS and when you get them all together in a room...they don't all look alike at all! They, like any other child, really do look like their families. You have to look past the obvious similarities and see the individual.

Because Down's Syndrome is a condition resulting from a chromosome anomaly, all Down's Syndrome people have an extra chromosome which causes them to have the same characteristics, such as stunted growth, short, stubby fingers, ears low on the head, and far-apart eyes. If you want to learn more about Down's Syndrome, you should Google it- they have a ton of websites devoted to it.

Part of the syndrome is a distinctive facial look so you are right they will look incredibly similar. This usually seen in the placing of the eyes and mouth. Lots of developmental disorders have similar distinctive facial looks for example Williams Syndrome.
These syndromes are a product of extra or harmed genes hence their genetic makeup is different to non sufferers therefore they will look different to non sufferers but they have the same extra genes so will look similar.

They don't all look the same they might look similar, but not the same they have different hair colour, height ,eye colour just like the people with out disability they may all have the same facial expression this is probably down to their genes. To them able bodied people look the same just like some people say that black people look the same which that again isn't true.

It's not that they all look the same, they just have all the same characteristics. and one of them are their distinctive facial features. They are all missing the same gene. It is actually called trisonomy 21, but widely known as Downs syndrome.

They all carry the same gene, they are all missing one from the female gamete's and male gamete's. Meaning that when they are born they look normal, but as their bodies grows they will show sign's of the illness
