If an Atheist said "God is fake" some Christians would feel attacked

Maybe we're more mentally stabled than Christians

Some of you atheists are "mentally stabled," all right -- you act like you were born in a barn. You don't respect anyone else's faith, although you claim to be tolerant and open-minded.

Perhaps if you were as polite and understanding as you claim to be, you'd find that Christians are more than willing to be reasonable.

After some of the things I've seen in the past few days in here... Yes, I'd have to say generally, Atheists are more stable than Christians.... (not saying ALL of either group). I have noticed a lot of them stating it's an attack on Christianity and then they speak out against it.... then they get upset when a Non speaks out against how they act.

Since you don't believe in God, then stating that he's real wouldn't feel like an attack on you. I'll try to explain - if a kid told me they believed in Santa, I wouldn't feel attacked, because I don't believe Santa exists. Now, if I were to tell the kid that Santa doesn't exist, it could hurt his feelings because it's something he believes in. His mom would most likely get mad at me for the statement and it would definitely cause more commotion than the kids statement regarding Santa. Now, Santa is something most kids grow out of eventually (personally I don't see the point in lying to my kids in the first place, but that's just me). God is much bigger than that - he is REAL to us Christians. It's not something you grow out of. I'm not saying that I feel attacked - because I understand that it's your opinion and you are entitled to it. But it can hurt some peoples feelings when you speak bad of their friends, same difference, so one would want to defend God, as they would defend a friend.

In the last two minutes one guy asked, "have you ever heard of an intelligent Christian?", and one guy responded, "Christians are blocked from intelligent thinking, logic, and rationality."

That's a little more than saying "God is fake." Hang out here, and you will see that sort of thing pour forth every minute or so, perpetually.

I tried to answer your last question, but honestly thought I might get a violation for it, because even giving an example of what a real "attack" is could be construed badly.

An "attack" is when you threaten someone. You want to do them harm or verbally abuse them.

Saying "That's a poor arguement." or "That is silly" is not at "attack" or just about every high school teacher would be arrested for attacking her/his students.

So it can be classed a persecution...thus fulfilling what Jesus said, 'my followers shall be persecuted because of me.'
Now I'm not saying all christians are like that.

The religion of atheism doesn't allow for feelings of being attacked however it does require that followers persecute Christians
