That guy has apparently never known a Christian. Please don't assume he's a normal atheist. There are idiots in all groups.

The usual stereotyping of all Christians as hate-spewing uneducated fundies is nothing new or unusual around here. And what I find ironic is that the ones bashing Christians are often the same people who adore "Lord of the Rings" or "The Chronicles of Narnia."

Both Tolkien and Lewis were Christians and college professors. G.K. Chesterton was another Christian author with plenty of wit and intelligence to spare. And those are just three of the writers -- never mind the scientists, philosophers, statesmen, and other brilliant Christian minds that have helped to shape the world.

So those who don't think there are or have ever been intelligent Christians are just displaying their own ignorance.

Edit:

In answer to the question asked about education, this is one Christian who holds a Master's Degree in English which she earned with a straight-A average. I love to read, study, and research in many different fields, including science, religion. philosophy, and psychology.

I may not be the smartest thing to ever come down the pike, but at least I enjoy expanding my knowledge base. I'm almost 54, and I know plenty of 20 year olds who can't say the same thing about their own interest in learning.

Christ Is The Power And Wisdom Of God
18 Preaching about the cross sounds foolish to those who are dying in sin. But it is the power of God to those of us who are being saved from the punishment of sin.

Yes I have. Many. But as with every other group, the intelligence range goes from functionally retarded to genius. Most fall in the boring middle range of that scale.

I do not have to look at that site to know the answer. I am an intelligent Christian, as well as my entire family. College educated, great jobs!

I saw that same comment too.

The fact that someone thinks this about any group of people, that there isn't one intelligent person in the group, is pretty funny.

There are a lot of intelligent Christians on this site.

There are also a lot of Christians here who perpetuate their own stereotypes.

Of course there are intelligent Christians. The real question is, are they wise enough to get a good education so they can learn how to think properly?
