We want something fun and inspiring. My husband LOVES Jimmi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vahn, the Beatles, Rolling Stones, etc. Any ideas on wall color, decor, etc?

We got drums, like 5 guitars(including an awesome flying v!" and a big keyboard. I was thinking of hanging the guitars along the walls with lights focused on them.

Wow, what a fun idea! Well, it depends how much cash you have to spend on this project. If you have a pretty large budget, I think you should get an artist to come in and do a mural of your favorite musicians right on the wall. You could have him/her paint the mural based on your favorite pictures of the musicians, or the mural could actually be of your favorite album cover (Sgt. Pepper comes to mind as an awesome album cover, but it might be too big of a challenge, even for an awesome muralist!) If you don't exactly have the budget to pay for a mural, you should get a ton of posters of your favorite bands and singers and layer them to create your own wallpaper out of them. I kind of had that going on in my old bedroom growing up. I never took any posters down, just sort of piled them on top of each other, so you couldn't even see the wall anymore. It was a cool look reminiscent of a wonderful old record store, like the one in High Fidelity. Also, if you're calling it a music room, I'm assuming there will be musical instruments in there, and all musical instruments are kind of like works of art on their own, so apart from the wall decor, I would just prominently display all the instruments and let them speak for themselves. Good luck!

Use old records covers as art by framing them under glass. if you are on a budget just hang them in a grid like pattern without frames. I would paint the room red or blue a deep color for richness and accent it with yellow/gold, blue and green tones. I like your idea of hanging the guitars on the wall. It will give more floor space and keep them from getting knocked over. Try to stay away from the 1970's look. It can seem dated to some visitors. Go for a classy modern look with the 70's twist in the art and accessories.

Black, white, and red. Black and white posters that are framed --- pushed out from the wall maybe 2 inches to provide shadowing always look awesome. Put some shelves up (those box looking ones that don't have the annoying thing under it) and make some stands for old records. Make sure you have curves in the room, possibly a guitar?

Not much you can do if you can't paint the walls, but i have some ideas! Well for the walls you can put up shelfs to put cds or tiny little music objects you can get from clairs. You can also put up you music like if you wrote a song, put it on the wall! Kind of like the wall of FAME or something. Pictures of you playing your instraments would be cool so, put the pictures on construction paper and color it, (but, your 14 so i don't know if you'll want to do that) for the room set up: i would put the keyboard in a corner, and a local furniture shops you can buy cool mats like all black or get it costumized ti say your name, get two of those and place them in each corner one for the keyboard and one fo rthe drumset. you should definatly put the guitar in the middle of the room but on the wall, out of the case. the flute and other things on each side of it. THen you can get a cool black loveseat or couch facing all the instruments like if you were to put on a show. Also get bean bag chairs to really put some moderness in it! Thats all hope it helps! Good Luck!

If you're a fan of Trading Spaces on TLC, they did a room like this recently. Painted the room a beautiful red color, then glued CDs on every inch of wall. So the entire room was silver, with the red in the background...but the luminescence of the CDs gave this gorgeous rainbow effect. Really cool!

Red, Black and White.
These colors are great together.
2 walls red
2 walls white
maybe a black and white checker board rug.
Framed posters will look amazing on these colored walls.
(i got all my stuff for my room like this from www.target.com)

you probably can surf for old prints online and there's a catalog called A Touch of Class that has some really cool wall hangings

go to a thrift store or goodwill and buy a bunch of old records, then hang them on the wall. you can also get some cd's and hang them from the ceiling as is, or decorate them first.

I would paint two walls white, two walls black, parallel to each other. Gloss it up with posters and such using black poster frames on the white walls and white poster frames on the black walls (you can get these super cheap at walmart.

Some framed arts would look great, too!
Here's an example:
