Any trip that is longer than a 30 minute car right my 2.5 yr old gets sick. Is there anything I can give her before I put her in the car or something I can do to prevent her from getting sick?

hi yes my son had this when he was 1 everytime we would travel somewhere he would trow up it was kinda annoying because it would stink the whole car... well i just gave him some gravol for infants and kids... i believe it is safe to give.. so i would give it to him about 20 mns before leaving the house.. because he would sometimes throw up over medicine.. ( was in a rush one time and accidently gave it to him in the car he threw up and we didnt even leave the drive way) lol... well just try this..

p.s they say somethign about food/drinks
well i wouldnt let my son do either and he would still throw up .. i first noticed this when he was 1 years old and we were in his grandparents van only for 20 mns he threw up ...

so my advice try finding gravol.. maybe she gets motion sickness well good luck and best wishes

I just read an article on this in Mays Parents magazine - feel totally smart now. It said food/eating can actually help car sickeness. Then something about its caused by looking out the side window and the motion messing with your brain, causing a disconnect. One other thing it said then was to put the car seat in the middle if possible so she can look out the front windshield. There were other things in there too, but have forgotten them. Maybe a thick sunshade on the side windows. The article also pointed to a med, but said to ask your doc of course - and Ive forgotten which one. I think it was Parents too - not Parenting - read it at the gym.

Don't give her milk before the ride and limit other liquids. Make sure she's not too warm-the back seat is usually lots warmer than the front seat.
