Of course there is no way to count, because some people will consider some words a curse and others will not.
One important point is that there are generally three types of curses: the profane, the obscene, and the indecent.
Profanity is when something is disrespectful to God or other things considered sacred by some.
Obscenity is what is morally or sexually indecent.
Indecency I think is just a lesser form of obscenity.
You'll find depending on cultures, different types of curses are more popular. For example, French Canadians use much more profane speech than obscene speech, where are Anglo Canadians are the other way around.

There is NO real answer, but vulgarilty nerver really stops. As long as there are people around, new curse words will be conjured up and piled up with the existing ones.
