I don't think that we've envented anything new under the sun. To borrow from Ecclesiates.
Atheism being evil? When all of us are evil to begin with? All I see in Atheism is a desire to be unscientific. Instead of suspending judgment for something that someone who hasn't experienced God, or the relationship with a person thereof, they decide to make a faith statement; "there is no God".
Is that evil to do? Only if God is real. Because then they are 1) ignorant, and 2) lying.

No. I don't think Christians invented anything. They just follow the teachngs of Christ.
