I would say just under an hour would be my limit. I was commuting an hour and about 20 minutes every day. I loved my job. I loved the people. It was getting to be too much and I was fortunate enough to find a job that was much closer to home that offered the same amount of money and less stress. I definitely hear what you are saying. Plenty of people in my area have long commutes. There isn't that much of a choice. I really got lucky. If I could take public transit easily then I might consider a longer commute because at least my time commuting would not be totally wasted. If I had to drive, no more than an hour on even the toughest commuting day. I see driving to work as a waste of time beyond a certain point. I wish I could afford a driver. :-)

4 years ago, my commute was a 5 minute walk.
2 years ago, my commute was a 3 minute drive.
Today it's a 20 minute drive in medium to light traffic mostly.
At this rate, in another 6 years or so, I'll be driving 2 hours a day in bumper to bumper.

About 3 miles, lovely drive in the country. I consider myself very fortunate.

My husband drives about 4 miles.

Terrible. I have to open the door and walk the 15 feet to the shop! Other times I walk the 10 feet to where the tow truck is parked and drive to where they need me. All that walking is about to wear me out.

It is okay. I just moved and I am still learning alternate routes. The back ways are okay, it kinda take more time, but at least there is no traffic!
