Because unless you are skilled in the art of debate in person, it can cause that reaction. 'Tis normal, don't worry so much.

Online you have more time to think about your response, what you are going to say because you have to type it out. In person you have to think more on your feet. It can get heated and you can't just log off or go to another website.

Why must you assume that something is wrong with you? It is called growth. You have become aware of a behavioral pattern that you are not sure about. Now that you have become aware you will learn what to do about it. You are not alone, there are many who speak through their computer to voice something they are afraid to say in RL. Religion is a very hot subject to talk about. Sometimes we need to see in print to help figure out our own feelings to use our voices for.

Hello Bobby,

Maybe you dont want to talk about in RL because you are afraid of sounding ignorant. I have this same problem. the best thing that i may suggest is that you educate yourself until you feel comfortabe talking about it. This is what i have done.

Good luck.

maybe because in real life, the subject requires action and/or change/commitment...on here, people can obviously sit & bash people & feel good about themselves....I know the RL one is harder, you are not alone.... But I can tell you this, making certain changes in our lives ...and taking action now---will save us from the later.. and thats a good thing!

It's easier to talk about many subjects when you are behind the keyboard. Speaking face to face is different.

hahahahaha it would seem that the anonymity of Y!A gives you the balls to talk about religion.

Also maybe the fact that if someone pisses you off you just ignore them whereas if you talk to people in RL about religion there's no "close" button or little "X" to click on to close their mouths when they start saying stupid things. hahahaha

Nothing is wrong with you. I can't talk about it with people in my life. I come hear, I read, I write. No face to face contact. No one can see the emotions.

There's an element of honesty here that "real life" doesn't offer. The trade-off to that is that it leads to a lot of verbal sniping here every day.

It's also advantageous here to be able to review and edit your words. Real life never offers that option.

Either you are facing extinction, or you just shun humankind.
It's nothing that a few quotes from the bible can't cure, right?

Easier to talk to people on the net anonymously. Harder to do it face to face.
