I have a 1996 Blazer LS with all factory radio and dash. I would like to get a Avic-D3 but I do not know if it will fit. Does anybody know if it will fit, I will make custom fittings for it. Thanks.

Making that fit would definitely require cutting both of the front dash bezel and the sub-dash structure. It's not just the height that's an issue; the depth is greater than the factory radio also. I'd suggest using a single-DIN unit like the AVIC-N3, with the appropriate mounting kit.

Edit: Actually, the factory radio comes with a dash pocket mounted underneath that can be removed for more space, so you probably wouldn't have to cut the front dash piece after all; you might actually need to find a way to fill in a gap around the new head unit. I'm pretty sure you'll still have to cut away some rear dash structure to take care of the mounting depth issue, however; and it would be tricky to make it look good in the dash.

GM used a Din and 3/4 size radio in 96. The D3 is a double din radio and as such will not fit without major modification. If your good with fiberglass you can make it work, but it will take a little work.

yes it fits you need to cut half inchec of the palstic on top
and cut 1 inch of plastic at the bottom and the radio will fit you also need to cut a little of the face pioneer sends a small square trim for the face use that to marck the space that you have to cut
