i am wanting to put a whipple supercharger on a 95 mustang 5.0 . what all would i have to do and get to put the whipple twin screw on my car.

For one I wouldnt advise putting a supercharger on a motor with out putting a forged crank, rods, and pistons because the ford 5.0's cant handle very much psi with a stock bottom end. Actually I wouldnt build a ford motor.

Are you buying a kit? if you are then it will take a couple days to install and bout 5 trips to the Parts store for little (while your there) things,

With a supercharger, and stock motor keep the boost down to 5 to 7 psi and retard timing a few degrees, use the best fuel you can get and she will last.

I think it's a good choice building a Mustang . I built a 351W for my son's 84 Mustang, mild cam and intake and the thing runs strong 12.90's at the drags with going thought the traps in 3rd gear ,3.00 rear gears (needs 4.10's). Easiest and inexpensive for the results.

Have you thought of building a stroker motor instead of a supercharger? for about $3000 you can build a 408 inch 351W and have allot of HP with out the worries of detonation, I'm in the process of picking up the pieces for my 427 inch 351W for my 2001 mustang

You can put a Whipple twin screw on your car, JEGs has a kit by Roush. Just be careful not to get crazy with blower speed and boost pressure. Factory rings and pistons (cast) cant handle it. It will get you more horses, and its ALOT safer than nitrous. Check with the tech reps at Jegs or Summit, they will be able to help you out. Good luck!

As long as you're running low boost (under 5 psi) you can get away with the stock rotating assembly (just make sure you run 93 octane). '94-95 5.0 HO's have hypereutectic pistons which will hold up to some boost, but they do not like detonation at all.

Make sure you do exhaust at the same time, it'll really help.

1. Have the engine rebuilt with lower compression pistons. Tell the rebuilders what your plans are. Give them all the details of the type of boost you are expecting.

2. Will need to have the computer recalibrated.

3. Check clearances on your hood

4. Install a 9" posi rear diff.

5. Hold on tight. . .
