Yes. My 80 lb dog sleeps inbetween me and my husband. Our legs hang off the bed sometimes, but I feel too guilty making him move, so I don't.
I know I'm a sucker and my dog's spoiled rotton!

I just read through some of your answers. No wonder there are so many behavioral problems, with dogs assuming status as high as their owners and the owners refusing to recognize the possible problems that may arise from allowing a dog to sleep in your bed. Considering the transfer of infections and parasites from dog to human, was enough for me to keep both of my dogs in their own beds. Since becoming a trainer, I am only well aware of the behavioral problems that arise when the dog is allowed to use the masters bed.
My congratulations to Sally B. for being top-dog in her house, without even realizing it.

Every night is a "three dog night" at my place. My little Rat Terrier is the first one in bed and picks his side. If the other two try his side he growls till they move to the other side. The beagle is usually the next to jump on the be and gets right next to me. Then the Pitt will get on and wants to be next to me so she pushes her way between me and the Beagle. Usually, I am the one who has to move for them to fit. It doesn't bother me at as none of them stink. The only problem is if someone is out around early in the morning I get wake up when The Ratty and Pitt fly off the bed barking to protect the house. Usually the Beagle rolls over and goes back to sleep. I don't need a heater on a cold night.

I have my doberman sleep on the bed with me, but really she just waits until i am asleep, then she goes and jumps on the much more comfy lounge that she can have to herself. It used to be soooo funny when she was a pup, we started off with so much resolve that she wouldnt sleep on the bed, but my hubby gave in after only 1 minute of hearing her whine from her crate. She used to wriggle down between us, under the doona, then turn around and come back up so her head was on the pillow. She stopped sleeping like that after she had a little accident one night, she wriggled up too far, slipped off the bed through the wrought iron bed head, and got stuck halfway down between the bedhead and wall. I woke up as soon as it happened, looked down and there she was looking so bewildered at what happened. Then she started sleeping beside me on the outside of the bed, and the amount of times she rolled off the bed, god, she always looked so confused, like 'oh, how did i get down here'. Now she lies down at the foot of the bed, on my side, so if hubbys home i have to sleep curled up, or if hes not, i have to lie diagonally across the bed. Some of the cutest memories i have of her, is when she would wake us up in the morning, so no, i dont regret letting her sleep on the bed and it has never caused any problems.

At one time I slept with two dogs and a cat plus my husband.
I have always slept with my dogs.
They are a lot cleaner than a lot of people I know.
That is how I have just trained my 13 week old Lab puppy to go out side during the night is to have her sleeping with us. That way when she woke up at night I would know it then get up with her and take her outside. It took me 3 1/2 weeks to potty train her. I was so surprised that it was that fast. Sleeping with us has really helped with us getting sleep as well.

No. She has her own nice soft dog bed on the floor near our bed.
First, she's big - if I let her sleep on the bed there wouldn't be enough room for us. Second, the cats sleep on the bed with us & I wouldn't want her to start feeling possessive of the bed - she needs to know the cats are above her in the pack order and to be respectful of them.

I'm like smars442, They give me very little room. Since I am the leader of the pack in their eyes, of course they all try to get as close to me as possible. I have a king size bed, Thank God or I would be on the floor.lol but then if I were they would be down there with me.lol My husband has all kind of room on his side of the bed!!!! Oh well, they are my kids!!

my older dog does but my younger dog has a tendency to get bored at night and chew on things so he has to sleep in a pet taxi because we're afraid someday he is going to chew up something that could hurt him.
