but u can extract RAR with WinRar

If it's a RAR file then you must be using a PC-- I don't think you are able to convert RAR files to MP3. Is there a way that you can get the file information and edit it? On a Mac, you can edit the information about the file and just change the extension. So if the song was sndjlsndj.rar I can just change it to sndjlsndj.mp3 by typing in the extension. Is there a way you can do that? Good Luck!

A "rar" file is like an envelope. It can contain any other kind of file, only in a compressed format to make it download quicker.
Go to http://download.com and search for the program WinRar. Download and install it. It will allow you to open the rar envelope and get the file(s) out of it and convert them back to their original type (mp3 or whatever). The WinRar is a trail version, but after the 15 or 30 days are up it still keeps working. You just have to click by a "Please Purchase" message each time you run it.

I like Winrar because it's a very good program to compress/decompress files in many different formats. You could also use other programs like 7zip or winzip for the same purpose but I think Winrar is the best option avalable. The funcionalities are pretty much the same for each program (you basically do everything with a simple right-click of your mouse) but Winrar is by far the best option.
The things I like about winrar is that it opens a bunch of compressed formats: .zip, .rar, .7z / 7zip, .iso, .tar, .jar etc. (much more than the other programs) and that it's 100% (trial period never expired so you can use it for free with no limitations)
These are the reasons why I recommend Winrar.

Extract the rar file, and if it's an mp3 then it will become the original mp3 again.

A .rar file is like a .zip file, it contains things and you have to open it first. the best program to do this with is winrar. just search winrar download on google and download it and open the .rar file.
