Whole grain breads are the healthiest because they have the best fiber and nutrients.
Hope that helps!

Just because a bread is colored brown, does not mean it's healthy. Wheat bread can be made with enriched wheat flour. I refer to it as wheat flavored bread. The same with multi-grain bread. It sounds healthy, but that doesn't mean it is. Also, whole wheat bread may likely contain corn syrup and/or high fructose corn syrup. Not healthy either. I was at the grocery store on Wednesday and thought I would go nuts trying to find a whole weat bread under $2.50 without corn syrup or high fructose corn syrup. Fortunatley, my husband and I found a couple of loaves for $1.99.
I've never heard of chapati, but if it's not whole wheat, or whole grain, I wouldn't eat it.

Brown bread is made from whole grain and white bread is made from refined grains.....the refined ones have less nutrients, so that makes the brown variety healthier.
If the wheat grains are refined then yes, a chapati made from it would not be as healthy as brown bread. So use whole grain flour to make chapatis. You can also powder other grains and use a mix of them to make the dough.

Both are good but some people may find one or the other harder to digest. Some people may have a problem with the yeast in bread but others may find the dense texture of chapatis harder to chew and digest.
Wholewheat products are better for you because the B vitamins and other vitamins and minerals are still included and there is more roughage.
Organic flour is best of all because there are no chemical residues to give your liver work to do.

Indian chapati also known as roti, phulka, parsada, flat bread and live bread prepared from whole wheat flour and just water is the best possible healthy meal as there is no yeast and fermentation like breads so starch in flour is not converted to sugar and there are no preservatives like salt, mono sodium chloride etc which means chapati will not rise your blood sugar level and will maintain it just at normal level while providing you enough energy for long enough to keep to healthy without gaining any weight. On the other hand fiber and protein in chapati also helps with constipation which is really good for people with problem with piles. Chapati is also very good diet alternative if you trying to loose weight. If you eat chapati 3 times a day just with simple indian vegetables and yogurt while completely eliminating sugar and drinks contain any kind of sugar you can loose weight very quickly and safely without any side effect. As chapati contain enough proteins you can gain pure muscles with lot of strength which you eat enough chapati with right kind of vegitables, fruits, nuts and right kind of fat( I recommend indian purified butter home made only). The key to loose weight is not letting your blood sugar level get high as it will trigger fat storing mechanism in body and best way is to eat enough chapatis and diet mentioned above. Remember more sugar you eat more fat you get. Say no to soft drinks and fast food, eat natural, healthy and just enough to fulfill calorie requirements, Fruits, vegetables and nuts will provide you all vitamins and minerals your body needs and yogurt will help your digestive system while providing your body calcium and vitamin d. Always remember when it comes to weight loose only 2 things matter- Blood sugar level and numbers of calories you eat.

Well wheat is better than white. White flour is really bad. Enriched is the worst...because all the good stuff is taken out and not put back....
read the labels and educate about food products and ingredients.
