If they are bigger stronger and more skilled than you then most likely you are in trouble unless their having a really bad day dood... Let's be honest, you're posting a worst case scenario picture with option 4 and most likely is that it is going to be a worst case scenario result for you because they have you beat in all aspects... Unless you are smarter... Maybe you might get a chance then but only if you last long enough to use your noggin for anything other than a beating

Your part 4 is a bit silly.

You'd lose.

That's the whole point of training to fight, so you can counter larger size and strength with skill.

When all other things are equal, the bigger guy usually wins, so your job is to try like hell to make sure things AREN'T equal.

That means you get out there and train as realistically as possible. It's all sweat, no shortcuts, no magic buttons. If you miss by even a tiny bit with a groin kick, then you just have a huge, strong ENRAGED opponent. Is that better? Probably not. :)

Judo is particularly effective against larger unskilled opponents, as are most grappling arts. Larger guys tend to be able to depend on striking and are therefore usually not as good at grappling, other than the 'bear hug', but I always recommend grappling (BJJ/Sambo/Wrestling/Judo) for the following reasons:

- sport applications means you get to actually try your skills (you would be surprised how many 'black belts' have never used their moves)
- less blood
- more control over the results
- looks better to the police
- majority of people don't know grappling
- the usual martial arts benefits, strength, flexibility, self-confidence.

Edit: I'd agree with the Captain above, but the advice might be a little much for a newbie to handle. Some of the techniques mentioned may seem easy but do take some training to execute well. (In my experience, anyways, your mileage may vary)

If possible run away to fight another day. If not:

You have to use leverage to make the larger size work against your opponent.

If he strikes you first and you are dazed then your training will still allow you to keep moving. Choose angles to evade him until you get your wits back.

The same rules apply to competition or a street attack. Move quickly and evade your opponent. Do not stop moving.

To attack a larger opponent you need to have some idea what his weaknesses are. In my experience a larger opponent is easier to take down because his center of gravity is much higher.

Maybe throw a high jab, duck under and clinch a single leg take-down. Dig in and fight to gain the mount. But, be aware that these really long guys can throw you off if you posture up too quickly. So if you do manage say a half guard, then take your time, jab to the ribs, cover the mouth, disrupt the breathing, elbow the thigh.

When he adjusts, move to full mount. Again keep your balance low so you don't get thrown off. Make him panic so he might give you his back so you can dig your hooks in then go for the rear naked choke. If you manage to sink it, don't let it up until someone pulls you off or you are sure he is unconscious.

One note- In MMA competition 20 years ago there were no weight classes and many were tournament style so facing a larger opponent was not uncommon.

What are you a girl? 6 pounds is not that much bigger than you bro. There isn't a huge difference between you and him. If you can fight you could take him. I say since you both aren't trained or anything i would try to fight him. I like to wait until i get hit to fight. But since you are scared just hit him first when the fight starts and just keep hitting him in the face. A few hooks will definetly back him down if not lay him down. If he still wants to fight after that first burst just fight him. Let him come at you and wait till he makes a stupid swing and start hitting him. I like to grab the person by there shirt and pull them forward so that i am behind them. Then just start wailing on the back of his head. If worse comes to worse and he is really just messing you up then tackle him. Just like football. Stay low and drive through with your legs. Take him down and hold on so you can kinda get a break from getting whooped. Just keep fighting its not hard. Dodge his punches and swing at him. As long as you do that you wont lose too badly and you could win. And you wont look like a girl for running or backing down.

1) Run away. If you can't run away, then keep out of his range until you find a good weapon or he gives you the means to make him overbalance himself or otherwise open himself. If you absolutely can't get away, show no fear and attack with loud yells and hisses and throw sand in his eyes. Sometimes this is the best way to get him to give you an opening for escape, or you might even be able to intimidate him and avoid contact altogether.

2) Again, avoid him or run away if you have a clear escape route. Otherwise, stay away from him while fishing for a good small, sharp implement for the next time he comes in and use this time to recover a little. Stay focused and show no fear; do not take your eyes off him unless he is meeting your eyes and you use the gaze change to make him look in another direction (when you're ready to make a move , escape or attack).

3)n/a-I don't compete; I suck at martial arts and haven't trained in 7 years except for basic techniques in solitary.

4) Again, run away, or use a gun from a distance if I happen to have one. Since he'd be more skilled, I'd do all I could to avoid him and if he got close, I'd use dirty tricks or misdirection of intent (Kunoichi-type techniques if you understand...). I have had to use a misdirection by saying and doing things I personally detest in order to stay alive before. (This was before I studied martial arts, but I think certain principles are universal and martial arts just teaches you how to apply this common sense to greatest advantage). The key is survival, and anything goes when you see the zero sum before you. Most people don't believe this, but I have been there, and I can tell you there is no telling what you'll do when you see death staring you in the face. Bravado will go straight out the window, giving way in my case to a basic clarity. I hope you don't have to find out the hard way, but I did.

If you're smart, you'd run. No point going toe to toe with a bigger and heavier opponent unless you really have to. Running has it's advantages, for one, you being smaller move faster, and if he finally catches up to you, he'll probably be out of breathe so you have a better chance of defending yourself, that is unless you're too out breathe to lift a finger yourself. Secondly, go for the groin or throat, if you hit either, it'll aggravate his exhaustion from all that running even more. Third, never stay still, keep moving and circling him, he'll have a hard time setting up punches or attacks when you're constanly in motion and will add more exertion on his part leading to further exhaustion. If he finally gets his hands on you, do not try to pull back to get away, step into him instead, stick as close to him as you can, this will make it difficult for him to punch you and even if he does, the blows won't be as hard, then try using your elbows, knees and headbutts. And if you can pick up a rock or anything to use as a weapon even better. Elbows are especially effective at close range, slam your shoulder(left or right doesn't matter) against his chest then when he tries to come back closer, Grab your fist with your other hand same way they do in kung fu movies when they bow to each other both elbows out with fist in hand in a formal bow, then shove the point of your elbow upward under his chin with as much force as you can. When his head snaps back from the force, it should expose his throat for a few seconds enough for you to shove another elbow strike or a fist at it. Then knock him down by slamming your shoulder against his chest again then run like hell as far away as you can, coz if he survives that and gets back up again, you're dead meat : P

In competition, don't worry bout it, it will likely never happen, since most competitions match fighters by weight division.

well i take tae-kwon-do and i am almost a green belt
if they confront u verbally then u should just walk away but other wise if they trow the first punch even though ur small don't underestimate ur self. Just block the punch and sweep the leg so they fall backwards but keep hold of their hand and punch to the face this will leave ur opponent confused and having a bloody nose. In competition w8 till they throw the first punch then just take em down. Even though a person is bigger than u.... u can do anything if u believe u can. I mean i can take down someone 1ft taller than me. So believe in urself

1) Either you use speed, and/or fight dirty (eye gouge, groin kick, bitting).
2) Try to get away from him as fast as possible
3)In competition people are matched according to weight, so the difference shouldn't be that relevant, unless is somebody who has mastered cutting weight, if that's the case your only advantage would be speed and technique.
4)I wouldn't attack somebody superior to me, that's just dumb, somebody who is bigger, heavier, tougher and more skilled would kick my butt easily, the only time I have to fight outside of my gym is when something is wrong, if that's the case and I have to fight a superior opponent, I'd find a weapon to even things up.

1 and 2 either grab something and hit 'em with it hard or go for the legs; break the shin or knee. Or you could just kick 'im in the balls. 3 in competition... counter-strike. if they're bigger and heavier, they should be slower too. whenever I sparred with my then brother in law, I'd duck under his higher kicks, and just sidestep the lower ones. punch avoision is the same as with anyone else. also, try to keep inside their striking range (as in too far inside from their perspective).
4. I wouldn't. I'm not an idiot. that said, my ex-brother in law was much higher ranked than me and a foot taller.
