This is for Christians. (For ANYONE who thinks that they are a christian) Paul says, that he, "is not ashamed of the Gospel, for it is the power of God unto Salvation". In your OWN words, what IS the Gospel? (do not just define it as the "Good News". We all know the literal definition). Try NOT to use Bible verses. We all can string Bible verses together. By using your OWN words, you are forced to automatically define what you believe "those" verses MEAN. So, if you believe that you ARE a Christian, in your own words as much as possible, WHAT IS THE GOSPEL?

I think I am Christ-like, so I'll give it a hammer.

Genesis 1:1 In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.

he we learn that the bible is a book containing strings of letters commonly referred to as words.

several books later, we reach this part of the bible called the "New Testament". Am I losing you?

The first book, named after a Hebrew fellow named Mathew was a male human who probably lived in Israel. Similar accounts were written from the perspective of Mark, Luke, and John.

These stories are the gospel.

According to Christian faith Gospel(s)is a Word of God hence it relates to all humanbeings!(as guidance).

I am still unable to understand as to why 4 Gospels for the same message of God? Further surprises come when personal letter of St.Paul are added to it - and my christian brothers & sisters still insist on Word of God!!

A Muslim cannot accept The Present Gospels as word of God because these are full of contradictions and confussions.

If it is word of God! Why the contents, events and texts differ in each Gospel?

If Jesus Christ was Begotten Son of God then he should have treated the Jew pharisees like a God. Why he was appologetic?

If Jesus was God .. where are his own commandments??
why he insists on fullfilment of commands of Torah??

Gospel can be defined as "biography of Jesus" based on uncertified human memories.

I recommend every one who is interested to know the Jesus Christ and his true messages, he must read The Quran - The Final Word of God. Here you find no confusion or contradiction about the Christ and his Christian faith.

The Gospel is the Good News that Jesus Christ came to earth in human form, died and rose again to save you - and me so that we can have Eternal life with God.
But not only that but he took upon Himself 40-1 stripes, so that we could be delivered and healed from all sickness in this earthly life, we have at present.
You will find this and much more in 4 books in the new Testament, 'The Gospels'.
Mathew, Mark, Luke and John.

Jesus made a new Covenant with Mankind, thereby doing away with the first. In a nut shell He did away with the 10 Commandments. His new Covenant consisted of the "Gospel". The Gospel consists of Gospels of Mathew, Mark, Luke and John. I compare this to a book of rules for say cricket. It has chapters for, Bowling, Batting, Fielding and stumping. To know the rules of cricket you have to have read the 4 chapters and so it is that to know what is required of us, what the penalties for disobedience are, you have to have read the 4 Gospels.

I'm not a christian, but I have to throw this in there...

In all reality, the Gospels of Mark, Mark 2.0 (Luke), Mark 2.1 (Matthew), and John are all literalist revisioning of a Pagan Mystery religion. None were written during the timeframe of Messiah Yeshua (Christ Jesus, in Greek), and none were known by Paul of Tarsus, one of only two REAL people in the Bible. The original Christians knew of Jesus as a mythical figure that was an extension of the Godman Mithras, with a Jewish twist.

In otherwords, they never thought of Jesus as an actual person. He was CREATED to change the hearts and minds of the Jewish (who were Palestinian terrorists, much like the people who inhabit the area today). The bible as we know it is CRAP. Yeshua (Jesus in Greek, Joshua in Hebrew) was never intended to be thought of as a real person, and the gospels are forgeries of fabrications. Think of them as unauthorized stories written about Harry Potter that are used to make it seem like Harry Potter's actually lived here on earth.

I suggest you all read "The Laughing Jesus," and get to the roots of Christianity. The bible is not a part of true Christianity. It is simply the hijacked bootleg whose followers told all the right lies.

The Gospel is God's grace, and grace is God coming down to move people to places of well-being.

The initiative is always God's, the means are of his chosing alone, and the result is always glory to his name.

From Genesis through to Revelation, God gradually reveals his means of grace, culminating in his Son dying at Calvary, then being raised from the dead, thus triumphing over sin and death. To believe the Gospel is to believe Christ and God, and thus to be saved. It is all about what God has done in Christ to bring us to spiritual life - eternal life. It is free, but it did not come cheap.

It is good news from God surrounding the death and resurrection of Jesus.

There is more than forgiveness, an ocean of mercy, life and adoption into God's family as we
Glorify God, leaning on the work of Jesus on the cross by faith, believing for eternal life

A more than amazing trade occurs at the cross where God trades our sins for Jesus righteous work on the cross. We are saved by a living faith that banks on the "The Lord our Righteousness" and not on our own good but does and if that faith is real must result in necessary good fruit that evidences that faith . We are saved to serve and enjoy God as part of His family forever.

Our hearts are changed and we no longer crave the gutter water of the world, but long for the living water from the throne of God. As Jesus was raised by the power of God, we are raised to bear the fruit of the kingdom of heaven whether we live or die

Saving faith involves having the facts of the death and resurrection of facts about Jesus and facts God the Father and Son... and accepting those facts as true... but more than accepting them as true it involves leaning on them, banking on them, and treasuring truth and knowing God and Jesus

(the 'gospel in a nutshell is given in 1 Corinthians 15' )
