When a guy says "I've been thinking about you the whole day" it means he has been thinking about you the whole day.

We don't do hidden messages, signals, double meanings or any of that mind-gamey stuff that your gender prefers.

We don't work the way you do.

If we say "x" we mean "x".

No, they don't always say that.

Since he's your mate, you need to just take it at face value though, and not start reading all kinds of meaning into it, because he probably didn't mean to insinuate any of the things that people are telling you to read into it.

Unless you're really looking to be more than good buddies with him...but you might be ruining a good thing in the process. Will you go back to being friends after being lovers?

I'm sorry but it could mean anything or nothing. The worst case scenario is that he is trying to get 'credit' without actually doing anything. It's like, hey, if he was really thinking about you, how about asking you out or showing affection in some other way? Talk is cheap.

if he is a MATE then he was probably bored or maybe he might have a crush on you.
if he wasnt your mate then maybe he likes you,
just ask him!

he's saying that he has some strong feelings for you and wants to get closer to you. hence he's been thinking about you the whole day. but you can always ask him what he's been thinking about when he's thinking about you.
