Find out the complete address of your gf and try to visit her once a week other than daily email.

As long as you visit frequently, and call often, there is a good chance that it will work. I wouldn't worry. If she really cares that much for you, she will not want to see anyone else. If she does, then good riddance. You wouldn't want someone in your life that would abandon you if your work took you out of town, would you?

Better let her go dude. Long distance plus youth equals break up. Your hottie will be lonely and vulnerable one day and some player will come along and YOU are a memory. Been there done it, got the dang tattoo.

If you want to move there, go ahead! To show how much you care, throw her a party, bake her a cake, buy her a gift. Hope this helps! (I moved out once, and my gf didn't do anything but bye. I was really sad. (especially because i had to leave her.)) -question001

I think the grandma is being practical. Long distance relationships pretty much don't work. But you are welcome to try.
