Besides reading through the manual step by step, another suggestion is to participate in some of the brand-specific areas of digital camera forums available at websites such as those below. I have found this to be an excellent source of information.

I have Sony digicams and I love them. But the manuals are not very good teaching aids. Still, you need the manual to show you where the controls are. So if you do not have it, download one from the Sony website.

If you want an overview of the features and controls, read some of the pro reviews. Here's a good one:

i assumed you have the manual of that camera when you bought it, so try to read the manual. but if you dont have, you can download that manual on the net at sony cyber-shot.com. just choose what language you want. the downloadable manual is (i think) a PDF (just had a glance on it before).
