You both could always enter the US, you as a citizen and him on a visitors visa. Then once in the US, you can get the required medical treatment and he can apply through a nearby immigration department. There is no law against applying for extended stays or residency from inside the US.

I am a US citizen and my husband is Australian. We have once had to extend his visitors visa in the US because of a death in my family. We didn't have any problems.

Good luck!

Your husband will never be issued a tourist visa. You need to go back to the US and have the baby. You can petition him while in the US. The problem you are likely to have is lack of income for the affidavit of support. You'll have a family of 3. You'll need to get a family member with income of at least $21,000 per year to sponsor your husband.

Go to the US for your pregnancy but leave documents for your husband to apply for a visa in the nearest US embassy from their country so that he could join you to the US.

Not enough facts to go on. I assume that you are an American citizen? If so and if you still have your proper ID then you should be able to just go. Leave him their until after your baby is born and then go back.

I understand that 'not dealing with petitions' just means you have to mail them to the US to be handled here. Go to uscis.gov
