this is not healthy if you do not get enough sleep your body will not have enough time to recharge the energy, it is kind of a life threatening . You should relax yourself and try to go to bed as early as possible. The best way is to take a hot shower and drink a cup of milk before bed, it helps

i take lunesta and sometimes Ambien CR..but lunesta is supposed to be for the long haul..most sleep meds are to be taken only during a short duration..check the warning labels..but ask your Doctor for the final answer..and then get a second opinion..also Webb med.on line source of medical advice..its free..and check out any information from a sleep disorder clinic..a ENT will check your for Apnea? or any other problems you might have physically that will effect your sleep hygiene
You should use your bedroom only for sleep and sex..no watching TV and no reading in bed as this disturbs your sleep pattern and it is not good sleep hygiene..good luck..i have the same problem but I am retired and I can sleep anytime I want to...lol

It's not life threatening. Be productive during that time. See a doctor if you want, but he will probably tell you to eat right, exercise, avoid alcohol/caffeine, etc. Relax - don't procrastinate, and then worry about what is not getting done.
Take care of yourself - and yeah, the melawhatever it was is helpful and isn't a 'sleeping' pill - it's something your body is supposed to naturally create anyway :P....

what age are you?? This is not life threatning, but is an illness, i would advise to go to your doctor.. if u do not want to go there are plenty of natural herbel remedies you can take which you can get in most pharmacies.. What proves very effective is an alcohlic drink such as beer( only if you are over 18 off course!) goodluck i hope this helps

I take Melatonin. It's a dietary supplement and works pretty good without all the morning nasty groggy feelings. I doubt it's life threatening since I have gone 2 days without sleep several times and only felt tired. Hope this helps!!!

I wrote a note on a piece of paper. "Is there anything I need to do?" I always look to that subject of, "If there is anything I really need to focus on to tend to."
My mind gets tired after looking at the note and waiting for a minute the looking at the note again.
If I have a problem I need solved I usually get it after forcing myself to read that a few times with breaks to ease my mind a bit. Deep breathing, going and getting a tad out of the frig to nibble, then I read the note again. Tiresome and Like I said, "If there is anything I really need to focus on to tend to."

From what my doc has told me insomnia can mess up your thinking patterns and cause trouble functioning correctly. I would see a doc and see what he says. There are other solutions besides medications if you are against that. Good luck.

Wow, although I am someone who is quite hard to sleep. I have never know something like this. I think you should try the hypnotist, maybe it works...

You say every month. Your insomnia may be due to your menstrual cycle. Mine is exactly that way.
