I had a guy ask me for something that cost like $35.
I figured it was his way to test me and see how interested I really was...
Common, what do you think???

If a guy asks you for a gift; it should be a caution flag. It can be that he is testing you... OR he could be using you as a sugar momma. He thinks your interest in him is a tool to get what he wants. Be careful.YOU should be the one getting the gifts and having him earn your love and affection. Since the begining of time; it has been intended for guys to win our love and prove themselves. DO NOT sell yourself out and be made a fool of.

If you like this guy... be careful. Watch him and see what happens. But do not spend all your heart earned money trying to spoil him or bend over backwards to impress him. Let him do some leg work and have it all.

Best of luck.

If this guy isn't someone you would have given a gift to without being asked (like a brother or boyfriend), then he thinks you're either real gullible or stupid enough to do as he asks, which is buy him something when you don't owe him, don't have any emotional connection, are not related to him.

Are you 2 good friends? And do you ever notice if he makes good financial decisions for himself?

Case in pt, I used to have a friend who didn't make a LOT of $$/yr but she did make some & spent A TON of money all the time.

On top of that for her b'days, she would ask everyone to go out to an event that you would have to pay for, then go to a meal where you would have to pay for & her, and then she wanted gifts!

I had to stop being her friend b/c I couldn't afford her.

But chances are your buddy just doesn't realize how much money you have or don't have & don't explain it to him/

Maybe just give him a gift certificate from the store that you purchase the item at & a card where you write, this is towards that fantastic new __________.

Good luck

If that's what he expects when you're not even dating, I wouldn't touch him.

That sounds like a feature of Narcissistic Personality Disorder

I would have told him to go get a job so he can buy it for himself. Even if you did like him, I hope that you did not buy the item for him. Soon, he may ask you to pay his rent or credit card bills.

Guy, girl or whatever, it's just strange to ask someone for a gift unless they were your mom or dad.
